radiografia

CBCT or Cone Beam Computed Tomography.

CBCT technology gives us a detailed three-dimensional radiological view of the patient’s oral anatomy. Conventional radiographs give us only two-dimensional images and, as a difference, CBCT generates high-resolution 3D images.

This allows us to obtain greater detail of the patient’s dental and bone structure. This technological advance allows us to make better diagnoses and treatment plans. The dentist can accurately visualize the relationships between teeth, roots and bones, which is essential for dental implant placement, endodontics, oral surgery, orthodontics and surgical procedure planning. It is also very useful for identifying pathologies, cavitations, infections, fractures and other anatomical anomalies that might go unnoticed in conventional radiographs.
In addition, CBCT uses a significantly lower radiation dose than conventional medical computed tomography (CT), thus reducing unnecessary radiation exposure and is an invaluable advantage for the patient.

The image acquisition is simpler, faster and more comfortable for the patient, who is not obliged to lie down, but is standing up as for the acquisition of a panoramic image. The appliance only rotates around the patient once.

The same device we have is used to perform other common examinations such as orthopantomography, which is also very useful as a diagnostic tool in dentistry.
